Lorette Langford has 18 years experience working in the mental health industry as a Registered Mental Health Nurse.  Lorette has worked in the following worksites (Royal Hobart Hospital, Department of Psychiatry, Clozapine Nurse Specialist, Community Mental Health Nurse, Nurse Specialist - Psychiatric Liaison - Risdon Prison, State Co-ordinator of Mental Health Programs at Australian Red Cross and currently works with the Mental Health Helpline.

Lorette has over 7 years experience in the delivery of training programs directly relating to mental health and mental health legislation with a strong focus on the 'how to', practical application of what living with and communicating with a person who is affected by a mental illness means.

Lorette is registered as an allied health provider under the Medicare Scheme for Mental Health Care.  She is able to provide basic Cognitive Behavoural Therapy and Counselling for clients referred by their local General Practitioner.

Lorette also provides Employee Assistance Programs for the Corporate sector.  This program enables empoyees to gain support for any matters that may be impacting them in their daily working life.  The service is paid for by the employer and is therefore free for the employees to access.  Prices are affordable and the service delivered is confiendial and professional

Lorette is a published author with a paper titled "Can they now die with their rights on?", which was published in the Psychology, Psychiatry and Law journal in 2003.  This paper outlines the differences in the 1963 and the current 1996 Mental Health Act.
